Constellation Wealth Advisors Announces Key Leadership Advancements as Firm Writes Its Next Chapter

After 17 years of serving families with complex financial needs, Constellation Wealth Advisors is entering an exciting new chapter by announcing the promotion of Kelly Bonnell to Chief Executive Officer and David Snopkowski to Chief Investment Officer. Both will also become partners in the firm.

Patrick Lafley and John Williams co-founded Constellation Wealth Advisors in 2009 to provide high-caliber wealth management counsel to families with sophisticated and multifaceted financial interests. After years of steady growth and success alongside clients, this formalized leadership structure strengthens the firm’s ability to achieve multi-generational sustainability while also enabling Lafley and Williams to devote more time to advising clients, an area where their expertise brings the greatest value.

“True wealth management isn’t measured in quarters or years – it’s built across generations,” shares Lafley. “We’re excited to have Kelly and David step into these leadership roles alongside John and me. Together, we’re building the kind of foundation that doesn’t just serve today’s clients—it ensures Constellation will be here for the next generation of families we’re privileged to work with.”

Introducing Constellation’s First CEO: Kelly Bonnell

With a proven ability to lead, execute, and inspire, Kelly Bonnell steps into the role of Constellation’s first Chief Executive Officer. Bonnell has served as the firm’s Chief Operations Officer for the past four years, overseeing the implementation of the firm’s strategic plan while ensuring its advisors are equipped with industry-leading tools and remain at the forefront of industry trends.

Bonnell’s leadership style reflects her personal understanding of how family legacies are built – through discipline, foresight, and long-term commitment. Before joining Constellation, she spent nearly a decade as COO of BGR, helping her own family steward and grow their 53-year-old company. Her deep operational knowledge, appreciation for generational planning, and experience as a Constellation client uniquely position her to guide the firm into the future.

Elevating Investment Leadership: David Snopkowski Named CIO

Constellation is also pleased to promote David Snopkowski to Chief Investment Officer. His exceptional insight across public and private markets, coupled with his role in advancing Constellation’s public and private markets investment operations through technology and process innovation, has driven value for clients. Notably, Snopkowski co-founded and built Constellation’s proprietary institutional private capital platform (Quadrant Private Capital Solutions), strengthening the firm’s ability to help clients achieve their aspirational investment goals.

Prior to joining Constellation six years ago, Snopkowski had eight years of experience in institutional investing. This included four years at the University of Cincinnati’s Investment Office and various positions with prominent hedge funds, Tudor Investment Corporation, and Fortress Investment Group in the NYC metro area. With nearly 14 years total in the investment industry, Snopkowski brings deep institutional expertise to his role.

At a time when much of the industry is consolidating, Constellation remains proudly independent and committed to continually elevating its capabilities, deepening client engagement, and delivering an elite, authentic multi-family office experience that sets the gold standard for wealth management.

Below is a letter from John Williams and Patrick Lafley, Co-Founders and Managing Directors of Constellation Wealth Advisors.

A Letter from the Founders

CWA Teammates,

Since founding the firm 17 years ago, we are grateful for the experiences – both learnings and successes – that have shaped the firm. Most of the learnings have come in the traditional form of trial and error, which we have then used to strengthen and improve the Constellation Way. In turn, this has translated into positive results for our clients, all of you as our teammates, and for our company.

Our focus on incremental, continuous improvement in our strategy and philosophy, how we serve clients, and how we grow as a team, has been our “secret sauce”, and it will continue to guide us in the future.

While we certainly had aspirations to win in the marketplace from day one, it’s fair to say we had no idea we would be able to accomplish the following by year-end 2025: approximately $5.5 billion in assets under management, over $1 billion in private capital commitments, 110 core client families, and the assembly of the best wealth management team in our region. This is a testament to the efforts of each and every one of you.

We have given our full effort as founders and will continue doing what it takes to deliver the best for Constellation’s clients and teammates. However, for a company with a long-term, multi-generational mission, founders cannot and should not lead alone forever. To truly align with our clients’ long-term goals, we must be a sustainable, multi-generational company focused on creating value for client families over the next 25, 50, or even 100 years.

With this in mind, nearly five years ago, we recognized the need to identify and help prepare the next generation of leaders to manage the day-to-day affairs of the company. The good news, for us and our clients, is that our leadership team has clearly risen to the challenge. They have focused on strengthening operations, enhancing the client experience, and delivering better outcomes for clients and teammates. As a result, the firm is now making changes to its leadership structure.

Effective immediately, Kelly Bonnell, who has been serving as our Chief Operating Officer for nearly four years, is being promoted to Constellation’s first Chief Executive Officer, driving our strategic vision and plans. We are also promoting David Snopkowski to Chief Investment Officer, where he will continue to evolve Constellation’s investment platform, as well as drive portfolio strategy and investment performance. We are also excited to announce that Kelly and David have joined us as partners in the firm. We will look to add depth to the team in 2026 to take on some of David and Kelly’s current responsibilities as they step into these roles.

As co-founders, we will no longer be responsible for any day-to-day management responsibilities and instead will focus on spending more time with clients, teammates, and prospective client families. These changes provide both of us with remarkable focus and clarity on how best to help our clients and the firm going forward. Specifically, John will champion advisory excellence, ensuring our client relationships remain strong and our advisors operate at the highest levels. He will serve as a coach to our advisory team and support new client development. Patrick will focus on all aspects of growth, conceiving big ideas, nurturing key relationships, and identifying the trends and innovations that will shape our future.

Constellation has grown substantially alongside our clients as we have honed our capabilities, talent, and technology to navigate the complex challenges and opportunities of comprehensive, integrated wealth management. Constellation is now a team of twenty-five strong, and all of you have contributed substantially to our clients’ and firm’s success…thank you!

Like you, we intend to continue to adapt, build, and improve every day. We will further strengthen our solid foundation, foster deeper engagement with clients,s and continue to provide an authentic, elite, multi-family office experience that proudly differentiates our independent firm and the value we deliver. We will support Kelly and David in their new roles and hope you will join us in that endeavor. As a team, we are now best aligned to serve our clients and one another.

As we write this, we imagine what Constellation could look like 17 years from now, in 2042. We are confident in our team’s ability and commitment to excellence, even as the future brings unknowns. Most importantly, we have great confidence in our new leaders to build new capabilities, strengthen our platform, and continue growing Constellation for the benefit of our clients and our team.

Please join us in congratulating Kelly and David on this seminal moment. We look forward to working alongside you and them for the next 17 years!

Sincerely,

Patrick A. Lafley                               John M. Williams
